A woman from Wetwang, Yorkshire has been chosen to feature in the next run of Sheila's Wheels adverts.
The 42-year-old health care worker was selected from a pool of 11,000 ladies who applied to be one of the Sheilas who are seen in the women's car insurance company's TV adverts.
She made the decision to enter after seeing Sheila's Wheels advertising the position, and said: "I love grabbing life by the horns.
"I just love doing new things. So when this came up, I thought 'why not?'"
She triumphed after a long audition process, the last step of which involved an expenses-paid day of filming in London.
She said: "It was like X-Factor - there were people everywhere. There were cameras and filming going all day long. It was really nerve wracking."
However, she said that she was delighted to receive the news that the women's car insurance firm had chosen her to star in their advert.
She said: "I whooped and whooped all around the shop. I was so pleased, I couldn't believe it."
The new Sheila will visit London once more for filming and the advert for ladies' motor insurance is expected to hit TV screen across the UK in May 2007.
