A women's car insurance firm is warning female motorists to set clear reminders about renewing insurance cover.
The advice comes after a judge fined an Irish woman £275 for driving without insurance.
The woman driver, from Kilbride in Ireland, forgot to renew her policy, the court was told, saying it had slipped her mind.
The judge was told that the woman may be unwell after hearing she was perhaps a little paranoid because she was afraid her neighbours' were spying on her driving.
CoverGirl Car Insurance Services is urging female motorists to not forget by making notes in diaries, on wall calendars and via computer software to make sure renewal dates are never overlooked.
A spokeswoman for CoverGirl, a cheap car insurance firm for women, said, "The long arm of the law caught up with this Irish woman and she has paid quite a price. It is essential that women's car insurance is top of the female mind when renewal time comes round."
