Women spend two hours getting car insurance quotes

A renowned insurer of female drivers, Sheilas' Wheels, has carried out research into the way ladies get car insurance quotes to mark its second birthday.

The women's car insurance company found that ladies are most likely to get a quote from an insurer that their friend has mentioned; 41% of female drivers told the researchers that they value and take into account word of mouth recommendations the most when searching for a cheap car insurance deal.

A total 34% of women reported to Sheilas' Wheels that they utilise online car insurance comparison sites in order to find out who offers the best ladies' car insurance quotes, whilst 32% browse personal finance articles and 24% read financial websites.

In addition, the woman car insurance company found that the average lady spends an impressive two hours and seven minutes researching the best place to find her motor insurance policy.

A spokesperson for Sheilas' Wheels said: "Women are becoming more discerning customers – they want well-priced and good quality car insurance – both factors that have contributed to the rapid success of Sheilas' Wheels.

"Women have appreciated our keen prices and our product features – such as built in handbag cover – and female-friendly repairers. In terms of interest, we know that fashion will always win over finance, but it is interesting that women are now giving serious time and consideration to their insurance purchases."

This is done on a credit hire basis which means the costs for this service will be passed onto the insurance company of the person who caused the accident. We may not be able to arrange a replacement car where we are unable to get an admission of liability from their insurance company, or where the driver is untraceable or uninsured. (3) Repair garage – if your car is booked in for repairs following an accident, the repair garage may be able to provide a replacement car (subject to availability).
