Female car insurance - women power!

Last month we reported on how increasing numbers of women drivers now want female car insurance for cars with more oomph.

Well, it seems as though this trend has reached another level with female motor racing becoming more and more popular.

Recently, Teesside Autodrome has been chosen as a venue for the UK's only all-female racing championship. The South Bank track will join the likes of Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Donington Park in hosting assessments for the 2005 Formula Woman Championship.

It will see an estimated 10,000 women attempt to win one of 16 places in the championship, which is sponsored by Privilege Car Insurance and Mazda.

"Formula Woman is changing the face of motorsport by giving a platform for women drivers to compete and prove that they are just as competent as their male counterparts," said Kathryn Pope of Teesside Autodrome.

"It is twice as hard for women to break into top-level motorsport - it's extremely difficult to attract sponsors, there are few other incentives and there are no role models," she said.

Female car insurance - a new challenge
So, if Formula Women sounds like an exciting challenge that may interest you, it is open to all women aged 18 or over who hold a driving licence but have not competed in motorsport before.
