British drivers would rather pay for repairs themselves than lose their no claims bonus, new research has found.
Insurer More Than revealed that motorists will pay an average of £235 to fix their motors instead of making a claim on their insurance.
David Pitt, of More Than, commented: "Our survey demonstrates just how important a motorist's no claims bonus is to them, to the point that they are prepared to pay hundreds of pounds for damage to their cars rather than claim after an accident."
One third of respondents told More Than that they had paid to repair their cars out of their own pockets.
As well as the no claims bonus, drivers may also have been put off by the hassle of making a claim.
