Female car insurance - maintenance warnings
It's true that female drivers have fewer accidents than guys and therefore have cheap female car insurance, but a survey out this week showed that a third of women don't check their own tyres.
The road safety charity Brake conducted the research and said the results were worrying:
"It's shocking that so many drivers, particularly women, are failing to take responsibility for the safety of their vehicles, and putting other road users at risk," said Mary Williams, chief executive of Brake. "Women are known to be safer drivers than men, but this survey shows there is no room for complacency."
"Regular, simple checks of tyres, lights, oil and water could save a life and should be a matter of priority for all drivers."
