OK, so it's not the cheapest small car out there, but with power-steering,
anti-lock brakes and central locking as standard it's not a bad deal considering
it comes in the lowest car insurance group and your 12 months road tax
will cost you £35.
According to WhatCar it also costs "buttons" to run, so that makes it even more attractive.
Easy choices
You can choose from the Urban Lite (the most basic), Urban, Kiss, Urban
Move and Sport models. However, apart from the Urban Move, where you can
choose the 2 Tronic manual/auto gearbox engine, they are all the same
1 litre petrol engine car wrapped with a few cosmetic differences.
Even the Sport model is only ‘sporty' because of the "go faster" stripes and Magda alloy wheels as standard. All models give a maximum 68 bhp and max torque of 70Nm.
So, basically, you just choose the model and trim that pleases you most, and you don't have to worry too much about the technical stuff.
Packing a punch
Inside, there is enough room for four adults quite comfortably, though
over six footers might feel a little cramped in the back. There will be
enough room for a shopping trip to your favourite boutiques, but baggage
for a full blown family holiday to Butlins, might be a tad difficult as
the boot space is fairly minimal.
However, I like the way it's only the glass window that opens, and I think the rear aspect of these little cars is my favourite view. I love the dark glass and array of bubbly rear lights; particularly good looking when wrapped in Laser Red.
Small is beautiful
Rather like myself, small is beautiful and lots of fun too. One of these
little bundles of joy passes me in my Astra everyday on my way to work,
and I have to say, I'm jealous. Yes, there may be a whole array of superminis
out there at the moment to choose from, but you won't go far wrong with
the Peugeot
107.
