At an award ceremony sponsored by the RAC earlier this year, Vauxhall won one of the greatest titles in the motor industry when its Corsa was named as Car of the Year. Vauxhall awarded five stars for high performance
In 2004, NCAP awarded Vauxhall with its highest possible rating of five stars for their Astra thanks to its excellent performance during front and side impact crash tests. Euro NCAP also stated that the Astra was one of the safest cars in its class, securing a high total of 34 points.

Some of the systems that made the Astra such a reliable vehicle and earn it such cheap car insurance rates include its rigid body with crash-boxes, the IDS chassis which includes ABS and the TCPlus traction control and ESPPlus.

Commenting on the successful news, Vauxhall's Chairman and Managing Director, Kevin Whale, said, "We are very pleased with this recognition of Vauxhall's commitment to safety management. Small Panel Van of the Year
