Just as quickly as fashion has changed, so too has the way in which car manufacturers have advertised their latest models to their customers. Over the years, Vauxhall has treated television viewers to a spectacle of some of the best adverts around and we can only expect that there'll be even more entertaining 30-second clips for us to look forward to in the future.

Vauxhall Cavalier 1980s
In a decade where car adverts concentrated on telling the viewer about the specifications of the vehicle, this advert for the Vauxhall Cavalier is no exception. Straight away we're told that the Cavalier is one of the most impressive cars of the 80s with its 1.6 power engine impressing every spectator on the road. The camera follows the Vauxhall as it drives along a quite motorway, navigating its way back to the car showroom, where a voiceover reminds us all that a Vauxhall "is better by design."
Vauxhall Nova 1980s
Moving away from the more sensible approach to advertising, Vauxhall began making their adverts a little more entertaining and this one commercial suggested that the Vauxhall Nova was able to get you from A to B with the accessibility of an underground transport system. The car carries a family on a smooth journey on the underground and takes them to their destination with ease. Just as their make believe carriage leaves the tube station, another Nova enters.
Vauxhall Nova 1990s
What a cheeky little advert this is for the Vauxhall Nova. The car acts like a pet dog who wants to please its owner by providing him with a loyal service. The advert shows just how manageable the vehicle is as it winds its way through traffic jams and parks up on the drive by squeezing through two parked cars. Being a small and economical car, anybody who bought a Nova would have received a great deal on their cheap car insurance.
Vauxhall Zafira 2000s
Moving into the millennium we see a new wave in the advertising as Vauxhall manages to come up with even better ideas than ever before. Knowing that humour is probably the best way to advertise, this advert definitely gets audience members smiling as a handful of school kids bug their friend's dad to take them for a drive in his new Zafira. After a long drive through country lanes the dad drops the kids off, leaving them looking at their friend in the car with nothing but pure envy.
Vauxhall Corsa 2007
This advert really hits the right market with the new design of the Vauxhall Corsa. More street-wise and up-to-date, the advert has a Sean Paul song playing in the background, with funky characters chasing after the Corsa shouting "C'mon" to their friends. The advert reminds us just how popular the new model is and mentions the fact that it was voted as Car of the Year 2007 by What Car? Anybody who buys the car will not only love it for its new design but also for the great deals they can expect to get on their car insurance.
