A female driver is expected to claim off her woman car insurance after her windscreen was destroyed by two large chunks of ice.
The 39-year-old woman was driving along an American highway with her sister when suddenly two blocks of ice were blown off the truck in front of her.
She said: "It was like 20 to 30 feet in the air. Before we knew it, we heard something hit the car."
The top of the windscreen had been ripped away by the ice and a large portion had shattered, leaving the lady and her sister covered in glass.
While her sister was unhurt, the female driver was left with a broken nose and cuts from the glass.
She is angry that the truck driver cannot be fined for not clearing snow or ice off his car, as her injuries were not considered to be serious enough.
She commented: "I have to be in the hospital. Or have my husband put me in the ground and then it's only up to what, $1,000. That's nothing."
Lee-Anne Bass, of the woman car insurance company CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, said: "This sounds like a very unfortunate incident, although at least neither the woman nor her sister were injured more seriously.
"However, the female driver may well lose out financially if she has to turn to her motor insurance company to fix the damage."
