Ladies in Doncaster could protect their woman car insurance rates for just £1 by taking the police up on a special kit.
The Crime Prevention Team division of Doncaster Police are issuing kits to local drivers which could reduce the chance of becoming a victim of car crime.
A spokesperson for the police explained that motorists whose cars are broken into have to pay an average of £600 to repair the damage and replace stolen property.
Ladies who want to avoid this substantial payout or prevent a motor insurance claim which could affect their future woman car insurance premiums are being urged to purchase the kits, which include a UV marker, socket head grub screws and two "Screwed Up" warning stickers, for £1.
The police spokesperson said: "Its aim is to provide residents with simple, yet effective, tools and techniques that will protect their vehicle from potential crime."
Doncaster Police are also undertaking a range of measures to reduce the rate of car crime in the city. These measures include a trap car initiative and trying to improve the safety of car parks through inclusion in the vulnerable vehicle and Safer Parking schemes.
