Three ladies who shot to fame in a UK woman car insurance advert are set to release their first single.
The three 'Sheilas' who sing and dance in the Sheilas' Wheels television adverts have decided to launch their own musical careers as a trio.
Their first single, '(I'm so) Happy Happy (You're Mine)', is set to be released in summer 2007 and is aimed to capture the attention of students across the UK.
A spokesperson for the woman car insurance company said: "It's sometimes easy to forget that Sheilas' Wheels is actually a car insurer. The Sheilas have generated a cult following since launch just 18 months ago and we even had to create a fan site to meet the needs of Sheila obsessives.
"The strength of the brand, the catchy jingle and the impact that it has had on women across the UK was clearly appealing to Stock, Aitken and Waterman who approached the Sheilas to catapult them into the pop world.
"'Happy Happy' could be this summer's hottest hit," the spokesperson predicted.
It is not believed that the Sheilas will be giving up their star positions in the ladies' motor insurance ads in order to pursue their musical careers.
