Avoid NU for woman car insurance, survey says

Those of us on the hunt for woman car insurance should give Norwich Union a wide berth, according to Auto Express. Britain's largest insurer performed worst in a survey of 45 motor insurance firms, published recently in the popular motoring magazine.

Auto Express readers were asked rate the various car insurance companies for helpfulness, communication and value-for-money, amongst others. Overall, NU could only manage a 72.13 percent score - putting it right at the bottom of the insurers list.

"Of course it is disappointing to be placed last in a league table" said a spokesman, who claimed that NU would be taking steps to "improve customer service" in light of the Auto Express report.

However, executives at the firm might have taken some comfort in the performance of their sister brand, RAC, which came in a more respectable tenth place.

"What a blow for Norwich Union," said a representative for the woman car insurance experts at CoverGirl Car Insurance Services.

"A result like this will surely make many NU policyholders think about switching to another insurer."
