One of the reasons that woman car insurance is so cheap is the fact that ladies are less likely than men to make costly claims, as they tend to be involved in less serious accidents.
However, the consequences of a serious car accident stretch much further than the prices that motor insurance companies can afford to provide.
Research by the World Health Organisation, presented in the Youth and Road Safety report, has found that young men are almost three times more likely to be killed in a car accident as young women.
It also highlighted the fact that the road accidents are the greatest cause of death for people aged 15 to 19, and the second greatest for those aged 20 to 24.
Gemma Turner, a spokesperson for the woman car insurance company CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, said: "It is a tragedy that so many young women and men are killed on the roads.
"I hope that some of the safety campaigns out there will have an effect on young drivers' behaviour and become successful in cutting serious crash rates."
