A 70-year-old lady is likely to find her women's car insurance quotes have increased dramatically thanks to her daughter.
The woman, from Manchester, had been taking her daughter to a railway station after what she called "a few drinks".
However, she started swerving all over the road and, after a near miss with a taxi, her 31-year-old daughter started pleading with her to pull over.
Despite the impassioned begging, the pensioner refused to pull over and continued to drive through Manchester streets.
Worried for their safety, her daughter decided to call the police and it was only after calling 999 that the woman pulled over to the side of the road. When police arrived, she was found to be nearly 1.5 times over the limit.
The elderly lady was charged with drink driving and said in court: "I came home from church, did some gardening and had a few drinks.
"My daughter asked me to take her to the station. I should have refused."
Magistrates banned her from driving for a year, as well as imposing £200 in fines and costs.
Gemma Turner, spokesperson for the women's car insurance company CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, said: "It is fortunate that there was no accident and that the only impact of this lady's actions will be on her motor insurance premiums."
