A female driver from West Yarmouth has sacrificed her low cost women's car insurance after rubbish piled up in her car to such an extent that it caused her to crash.
Ann Biglan's Ford Focus suddenly careered out of a Post Office car park and across a road where it hit a Ford Explorer before shooting backwards over a footpath and coming to a rest on a petrol station forecourt.
At the time of the accident, rubbish filled the car from the foot well to the ceiling in the back, and up to the window ledge next to the front passenger seat with some even spilling onto the driver's seat.
The crash occurred when some of the rubbish fell onto the brake and accelerator pedals as Ms Biglan was driving. Due to the extent of the gigantic mound of food wrappers, cans, bags and other debris on the front seat, it was impossible to tell the identity of the exact articles that caused the crash.
Ms Biglan has been charged with a number of motoring offences related to the accident, which will severely reduce her chances of getting cheap car insurance again if she is convicted.
Lee-Anne Bass, of CoverGirl Car Insurance Services, said: "I thought my car could get bad sometimes but the state of this lady's Focus is really something else.
"I can't imagine that any women's car insurance company would be keen on providing motor insurance for any vehicle that contains such a mess."
