X Factor judge a threat to women's car insurance

A female motorist may have lost out on a cheap women's car insurance rate thanks to one of the judges from TV talent show X Factor. The woman spotted him arriving for the show's second round of auditions in Cardiff city centre and was so distracted that she promptly ran into the back of another driver stopped at a red light.

Fortunately the crash was at relatively low speed and neither driver was injured. After exchanging motor insurance details and a few words of support from the celebrity who had inadvertently caused the crash, the woman drove swiftly away - presumably to hide her embarrassment.

"It was quite a bump and she seemed very embarrassed by it all," said an onlooker. "It was a good job she was only going slowly."

"You can't blame the celebrity for ruining this woman's car insurance rate, but I bet she wishes she hadn't recognised him now," said a spokeswoman for the online car insurance specialists at CoverGirl Car Insurance Services.

"I wonder if she's still watching the X Factor," she added.
